Hanukkah, the celebration of Dedication, is an 8 day festival known as one of the minor winter holidays, not listed in Leviticus 23, yet filled with prophetic and historical significance. Whether you choose to celebrate and enjoy the candle lighting and festivities of the week, or perhaps choose only to acknowledge its prophetic patterns, it is one that is hard to ignore when seeing the connections to the end days!
Hanukkah highlights the significance and the role of altars - as all eyes turn to the rising fervor concerning a coming 3rd temple and altar set up, Hanukkah emphasizes and highlights the dividing line that the altar becomes, and how its purpose can be usurped to glorify another. What a significant season to take the time to inspect the most important altar - the altars of our hearts and minds.
