Counting the Omer 2023

This is an interesting Mitzvoth – it highlights the interval between the Spring Festivals of Pesach and Shavuot. Most people simply accept it as a means of ‘counting the Omer – or days’ between the two, yet fail to ask why aren’t the gaps between the other convocations (Except for the Shabbat) counted in the same manner? This ritual itself leads one to believe that Shavuot is indeed a unique, set- apart and holy convocation different from all the other Festivals - needing 50-days to create the Spiritual atmosphere necessary for truly celebrating it!
