The history and significance of Purim is taken from the Book of Esther.  Though not listed in Leviticus 23 as a mo'edim (Feast), the significance and prophetical meaning found within the Megillah Esther (Scroll of Esther) cannot be ignored!  Do you realize Esther was a contemporary of the prophet Daniel, Nehemiah, Ezra, the prophet Zechariah, the prophet Ezekiel, and the prophet Joel!  Each of these individuals provides a piece of the puzzle revealing the plans of Yahweh regarding His people Israel both in the immediate timeframe they were living as well as the end days (OUR DAYS)!  

Esther stands out among the Scriptures as a book which does not contain the name of Yahweh.  Yet this is part of its significance as it reveals the Hester Paniym - the Hidden Face.   Deuteronomy 31:18 - "And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.”  In fact Esther’s name itself comes from the Hebrew root Strong’s #5641 satar סָתַר to hide, to conceal, to guard, or protect, specifically to hide the face, to put a veil over the face.
