Toldot

It is interesting to note that this parshah starts with the interesting code phrase “elleh toldot”, translated as “these are the generations”, the 8th of 10 of these statements found structuring the scroll of Genesis!  We find here that Isaac is firmly established and reiterated as the son/heir of Abraham, entrusted with carrying on and stewarding the covenant and promise.  Yet the true depth and significance of this phrase “elleh toldot” as well as position cannot be understood outside of delving into the Hebrew language!  It reveals much more than just a mere genealogical record!
